If your troop is looking to camp at Camp Golden Pond this fall, I highly recommend that you put your reservations and deposits in soon. Palmer Lodge in particular has been in very high demand.
Day only usage of the camp is free so if you are looking for a spot to work on outdoor skills, contact Friends of Golden Pond to set a date. Reserving the canoes or archery range for an afternoon is only $30 for three hours and Friends of Golden Pond will help you find a certified facilitator. Contact them for details.
Upcoming programs at the camp include
- Out of This World Day Camp for Brownies and Juniors July 29 – Aug 1.
- Bats! on August 3rd at 10AM
- Invasive Species on August 3rd at 2PM
- Black Bears on Sep 28th at 1PM
- Native Lake and Stream Life on Sep 29th at 1PM
If your troop is interested in racing a boat in the Recycled Regatta on August 24th, register now to secure your spot. Registration fees for a crew of 4 are less than $25 per person and include the post race BBQ.
This event will be a fun way to end the summer and help fund the camp so that we will be able to use the camp in 2020. Building a recycled boat will help you explore not only environmental concerns related to recycling and waste, but also engineering, teamwork, and more.
