Calling all Daisies and Brownies for a fun weekend at Camp Golden Pond working on our troop camping badges!

Daisies will complete Buddy Camper and Brownies will complete Cabin Camper. Additionally, we will have activities that will tie into the Daisy 3 Cheers for Animals Journey and the Brownie Wonders of Water Journey. Note: we will NOT be completing the journeys at camp, rather including activities designed to complement the journeys.

Cadettes (8th grade) and up participating in our Camp Leadership Training program are invited to help lead the younger girls in some of their activities. CLT participants will stay in Palmer Lodge and prepare their own meals.

If you have a Junior or younger Cadette whose sister will be participating in the program and her parent is serving as an adult leader at camp, please contact us. She can register as a “Leader in Training” and help with the Daisy/Brownie program, staying in Legacy Lodge.

Overnight? With Daisies?

This is a weekend camping event that begins on Friday evening. We encourage all groups to join us for the entire weekend (arrive Friday evening and depart Sunday morning). However, we realize that not every group is ready for this experience.

If your group is NOT ready for a weekend, you are welcome to come out Saturday morning (please arrive at camp by 9AM). You can also choose to do a day only event. Please note that our costs are driven by the cost to rent Legacy Lodge so there is no cost differential for arriving late or leaving early. Please indicate on registration form if a participant will NOT be staying the entire weekend.

For troop leaders bringing our littlest scouts overnight without their parents, please know your girls and make sure they will be comfortable being away from their parents for a weekend.

Please note that all adult leaders will be required to help facilitate activities at camp. There is no dedicated camp staff and with a small group, everyone will need to help out.

Male leaders staying overnight will have a separate sleeping area from the girls.

Winter?

This camp will take place at the end of January. The weather is likely to be cold and snowy and we do plan on exploring our winter world.

While we will be sleeping in the heated lodge, all participants should be prepared to go outside in the snow. Please bring snow pants/coats, waterproof gloves, hats, and an extra change of clothes.

Deadlines and Registration

Registration for this event will open Nov 5th and continue until Dec 22nd or the lodge is full.

All fees are due no later than Dec 29th.

When registering, please have the following pieces of information available for each participant:

  • Name and emergency contact information
  • Allergies (nuts, dairy, etc)
  • Restrictions (vegetarian, no pork), or anything else you think we need to know to make sure everyone has the best camp experience possible. Do not assume that our definition of “kosher” matches your definition!
  • If we can publish photos of your group on this website or not.

Troop leaders, if collecting this information from your parents is difficult, you are welcome to have individual parents submit roster information for their own girls.

Parents, if your troop is attending, check with your leader to see if they are handling the registration.

Please be respectful of our deadlines.

Cost

The cost for this event is $30 per Daisy/Brownie and $15 per adult or older girl.

Participants who register (and pay) before Dec 10th will receive a $5 discount per participant.

This cost is driven by the cost to rent Legacy Lodge. If we do not have sufficient participation to pay for the lodge, we will contact participants and either increase the rate or cancel the event.

Meals

All meals (Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner and Sunday breakfast) are included in the cost of this camp.

As part of the badge requirements, we will be asking groups to help plan and prepare meals. (We will be purchasing food in bulk using the camp fees.) You will be contacted with details after registering.
