Spring Camporee is an unstructured event where troops are invited to camp to just hang out, work on a badge, and generally do their own thing. No programming other than scheduling limited resources is provided.
Weather and facilitator availability permitting, troops will be able to sign up for archery, canoeing, and fishing time slots.
Daisy Day is a structured program for Daisies on Saturday during camp to introduce our newest scouts to camp. The program will run from 9AM to 5PM.
Registration will run until April 17, or until camp fills.
Troops/Groups are responsible for their own meals at this camp. The camp kitchen will NOT be stocked or staffed. Keep in mind that troops will likely be sharing units (including kitchen and campfire space).
Daisies coming for Daisy Day will be provided an afternoon snack, but should make sure to bring a bagged lunch.
Participants coming to camp for the day on Saturday should NOT plan on using any of the kitchen facilities for their lunch (refrigerator, microwave, etc). You should have a bagged lunch that you can carry with you.
The cost for attending Spring Camporee is $10 per girl and $5 per adult. Girls registered before April 3 will receive a $5 discount.
Facilitators (archery, canoeing, fishing) are free. Please contact us when registering to have the discount applied.
Daisies generally do not spend the night at spring camp. Instead, Daisy Day is a structured program put on by older scouts that runs from 9AM until 5PM on Saturday during camp.
Daisies may spend the night under two scenarios:
- Their older sister and a parent are also spending the night with the older sibling’s troop.
- 1st grade Daisies who are part of a mixed (multi-level) troop.
Individual troops may place other restrictions on their overnight Daisies, such as requiring a parent/guardian stay overnight with their Daisies. It is our experience that Daisy troops are generally not prepared for the unstructured nature of spring camp. For our littlest scouts yearning to spend a whole weekend at camp, we encourage you to enjoy the Daisy Day and then plan to come out for Summer Camporee.

Day Only vs. Weekend
Troops of Brownies and higher level are invited either for the weekend or just the day.
It is very important that we have accurate counts of day only vs overnight in order to ensure that there are enough beds. When building your roster, please pay careful attention (and double check) that you selected the correct options for each participant. If you incorrectly mark participants as day-only instead of overnight, you may find that there is not a bed available for them to sleep in.
Troops coming just for the day will not have access to kitchen facilities. While we will assign day-only troops a “home base”, we may not know where that will be until we get to camp. Troops should plan activities that will work well either in Legacy Lodge, at a pavilion, a picnic table, or around a fire circle. Again, troops are responsible for their own programming.
If your group is interested in tent camping, please indicate so when making your reservation.
Tag-a-longs are unregistered minor children. Only children who are not elligible to be girl members are eligible to be tag-a-longs (boys and preschool girls). Girls who are in kindergarten+ must be registered members of GSHPA. Tag-a-longs must be accompanied at all time by a parent or legal guardian.
Tag-a-longs will be charged the girl rate.
All groups are responsible for having appropriate adult/girl ratios as laid out in the GSHPA Activity Safety Checkpoints as well as a registered first aider. If your troop is combining with another troop to meet ratios and first aid requirements, please add a note to your registration.
All adults staying overnight must be GSHPA registered and cleared. It is your responsibility to ensure that your adults are properly registered and cleared through GSHPA. Failure to have the appropriate clearances in place may prevent your entire troop from being able to attend camp. Please review our event policies.
This is a troop registration event. Troop leaders should complete the registration process for the entire troop. If you do not have a troop or your troop is not attending, please contact the camp committee.
For each participant you will need to have parental contact information, emergency contact information (someone who is NOT at camp), allergy information, any medical/cultural items that camp needs to be aware of, and if we have photo release (check box located at the bottom of the GSHPA general permission/health form).
Remember, you do not need to do your whole roster at once. You can add girls one at a time as they commit to you and then submit when you have answers from your whole troop.
Troops from Out of Area
This event is for troops from Service Unit 416 (State College) only. Registrations for troops from other Service Units will be rejected unless prior approval from the SU 416 camp committee is obtained.
