STREAM Girls at Black Mo State Park
(Science, Technology, Recreation, Engineering, Arts, Math)
Every person is a citizen of her watershed and we will be joining Trout Unlimited at Black Mo State Park to learn what that means. By exploring our local waterways, we will have the opportunity to observe them as scientists, anglers, and artists – allowing us to get the complete picture of what our waters mean to us and how we can help protect them.
STREAM Girls in PA is a partnership between the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited, PATU, PA Fish & Boat Commission, and the Girls Scouts in the Heart of PA. Join us for an experience you won’t forget!
Girls’ hands-on activities will include aquatic bug exploration, stream math, fly tying, fly casting, are and more. No experience is necessary, but a strong interest in watershed conservation outdoors, and scientific inquiry is encouraged.
This is a full day program that will conclude at dusk.
Participants are responsible for all snacks, meals, etc. After registration closes, we will help any interested participants with coordinating a group dinner.
Registration will open on June 1 and run through July 19.
Participants must be current members of GSHPA Service Unit 416. Priority registration will be given to Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts (entering grades 9-12 in Fall 2021). Cadettes (entering grades 6-8 in Fall 2021) can sign up for a waitlist and will be approved should space permit.
Girls must be accompanied by either a parent or troop leadership following GSHPA directed girl/adult ratios. If you have questions or need help connecting with a troop that will be providing Troop Activity Chaperones, please contact the camp committee.
We have reserved one of the group camping sites for the entire weekend (August 6 – 8). Girls can choose to camp overnight or participate in the day only event.
All overnight adults must be registered and cleared Troop Activities Chaperones.
Please Login in order to register for this event.
