You don’t have to go far to find beautiful and easily accessible hikes in the State College Area. Check out our list of beginner hikes that scouts of any level can enjoy. All these hikes are located within a few minutes of State College.
Our name is officially changing back to Service Unit! That means we need a new logo.
If you are artistically inclined, we invite you to submit a logo. The selected logo will become our Facebook profile photo, replace the trefoil image in the browser tab, and appear elsewhere on the site. Additionally, the image may be re-printed on items such as T-Shirts.
The girl who submits the selected logo will receive a free community T-Shirt and $10 camp credit to be applied towards a SU 416 Camporee.
Come join us in the Snetsinger Butterfly Garden at Tudek Park. Service Unit 416 is led by troop leaders Megan Roberts and Christine Clouse in exploring and maintaining a beautiful plot on the Swallowtail Trail.
Daisies can work towards their Flower Journey. Brownies can explore for their Bugs Badge. Juniors can work towards earning their Flowers and Gardening Badges. Cadettes can explore the surrounding meadow and park for their trees badge. Older girls can earn community service hours. Girl Scouts Troops can also work with the Master Gardeners during SBG Work Sessions in maintaining and enhancing the entire garden.

As we finish out another amazing year, we want to hear about the badges, journeys, and other awards you earned! If you earned a badge or did a journey in a creative and fun way, leave a comment in our Badge and Award Listings.
If you notice we are missing something (a local patch or council’s own badge), please let us know!
