Hygiene Drive for Ukraine

Girl Scout Troop 40034 is working on their Silver Award and needs your help!

They are holding a Hygiene Drive on April 16th from 1-4pm for Ukraine. They need new and sealed hygiene products, both personal and feminine, as well as baby wipes, first aid items, lotion, tissues and even chapstick. Donations can be dropped off at the Little House, located behind the Historical Library, 115 W Howard Street, in Bellefonte.

Silver Award: Storybook Walk

Congrats to Camryn Anderson from Troop 40429 for earning her Silver Award!

Camryn built a StoryWalk® at Ferguson Township Elementary school. A StoryWalk® is an outdoor installation that encourages movement and reading. Each station has a single page from the book and readers must move to the next station to continue the story. Camryn’s installation at Ferguson Township Elementary includes 19 different posts. Camryn made 4 different books for the walk, so that the school will be able to change out the stories.

Troop 40214 Silver Award – Centre Wildlife Care Food Garden

Troop 40214’s Silver Award project included planning and building two garden beds and planting food for rescued wildlife at the local Centre Wildlife Care rehabilitation facility to reduce the costs of food for the animals. Centre Wildlife Care is a nonprofit wildlife rescue facility that people turn to when they find injured wildlife. Having a source of fresh food for the animals helps defer the costs of operation.

Going Silver – Ryan’s Case for Smiles

Troop 40067 is working on their Silver Award to bring a smile to children at the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville, PA. They are working with the Ryan’s Case for Smiles foundation and making Pillowcases for children who have to be hospitalized due to various illness. Their goal is to make 100 pillowcases. They are seeking to raise $650 to support their efforts and have been very busy out in our community. If you see them, be sure to show some support. Their next stop will be the Bellefonte Art Fair on Aug 11. If your troop is working on (or recently completed) a Bronze, Silver, or Gold award, let us know!
