We hope you’ve been enjoying these weekly hike challenges with your families! This week we are heading over to Bald Eagle State Park to do the Woapalanne Path and Lakeside Loop!
Week 6 Hike: Woapalanne Path and Lakeside Loop https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/pennsylvania/woapalanne-path
Distance: 3.4 mile loop; 118 foot elevation change
Directions: Take I-99 N toward Bellefonte. Continue onto PA 26 N. Turn right to merge onto I-80 W toward Dubois. Take exit 158 for PA 150 toward Milesburg. Continue onto PA 150 N. Turn right into Bald Eagle State Park via Main Park Rd. Follow Main Park Rd. until you get to F.J. Sayers Rd. The Trail head is at the end of F.J. Sayers Rd.
Bonus: If you don’t have enough time to do the Woapalanne Path and Lakeside Loop you can also opt to do the Nature Inn Loop which is 2.1 miles with 170 ft. elevation change. A portion of both trails overlap.

If you’ve never been to Bald Eagle State Park, then you are missing out! There is a huge beach (Sayer’s Dam Beach) complete with restrooms and indoor showers. There is also camping and a gorgeous Inn available with room rentals. You can definitely make a day trip or full weekend out of visiting the park.
