Updates for February

Outdoor Challenge

There is still time to complete the State College Girl Scouts Winter Outdoor Challenge! After you complete your check list, talk to your Troop Leader about ordering patches and/or rockers.

We love to see photos of our G.I.R.L.s in action. If you have photos you want to share with the service unit, please email thismonth@statecollegegirlscouts.org.

If you have an idea for a outdoor challenge checklist or a patch design, let us know. If we use your patch design, your troop will get a $25 gift card to the Girl Scout Shop.

World Thinking Day – Meet Juliet Gordon Low

In lieu of the Service Unit’s traditional World Thinking Day celebration, we have arranged for a virtual meet and greet with Juliet Gordon Low. Join us on Feb 21 at 1PM to learn about the origins of the three Girl Scout holidays:

  • Founder’s Day (Juliette Low’s birthday),
  • The Girl Scout birthday
  • Thinking Day

Spring Daisy Day and Camporee Updates

We will be hosting a Spring Daisy Outdoor Fun day at Bald Eagle State Park on June 5th. Our Daisies will learn outdoor skills and Girl Scout traditions and have a fun time exploring Bald Eagle State Park.

We are in the process of exploring organizing similar day events at the state parks for the other levels and would love to hear from you. If you have thoughts on camporees in 2021 or are interested in helping, please contact the camp committee.
