Looking for a new local trail to hike with your Troop or family this summer? Try the Black Moshannon Moss-Hanne Trail. Starting this trail from Beaver Road and heading in toward trail marker #6 (which is also the part of the trail that overlaps with the Allegheny Front Trail) will take you through three different biomes – a boardwalk bog that feels very much like a tropical area followed by the fern forest, and finally a sparse floored pine forest area where it can be tricky to find your yellow trail blazes. It is a quick hike with minimal elevation changes, doable for all ages. Happy hiking!
