Democracy in Action Panel – Call for Questions

GSHPA SU 416’s Democracy in Action Panel will take place on March 14th! We will Zoom with a diverse group of local and state government leaders to give our girls a high level overview of how our government works. We encourage everyone to submit questions for our panelists in advance!

We are happy to share that our list of panelists will be Amy Farkas, Harris Township Manager; Carla Stilson, Council Member for College Township; Ronald Filippelli, State College Mayor; Amber Concepcion, Board President State College Area School District; Michael Pipe, Chair of the Centre County Board of Commissioners; Scott Conklin, PA State Representative, 77th District; Kerry Benninghoff, PA State Representative, 171st District; and Meg Snead, Secretary of Policy and Planning at Office of PA Governor Tom Wolf.

Girls should wear their uniform and join the zoom using their name and troop number as the participant name (i.e. “Amya, Troop 40123”).

Journeys, Badges, and Awards!

This summer we will be reorganizing our site’s awards section to make it easier to find the information you need. As part of that effort, we need your help! If your troop completed a journey or earned their Bronze, Silver, or Gold awards, we want to hear about it. If your troop did something fun and exciting to earn a badge, we want to know. Our hope is to flush out the awards and badges section with completion suggestions and resources that our local troop leaders can use. We also want to hear about any Council’s Own badges that we can add information for. To submit badge or project information, please contact us.
