Girl Scout Troop 41154 Bliss Journey Take Action Project
Troop 41154 will be making craft bags for Caitlin’s Smiles. Caitlin’s Smiles is a program that donates bags of crafts for children battling illness in children’s hospitals. Troop 41154 will be hosting a workshop to make kits for 2 – 5 year old girls. The bags will contain a card and craft activities for the girl.
Donations
Troops can donate items to include in the bags:
- Play-Doh or Crayola Model Magic (individual sizes)
- Drawing pads, coloring books, activity books – no larger than 9″ x 12″ in size
- Bags of pony beads (any color)
- Lacing for necklaces/bracelets (gimp, thin leather, elastic, thin ribbon)
- Sheets of stickers – no larger than 9″ x 12″ in size
- Crayons, markers, and pencils
- Cotton fabric for the bags, no smaller than 1 1/4 yard pieces
- Yarn or ribbon for draw strings on bags
Craft Day Stations
The following stations will be available at the Jan 6th, 2017 event:
- Fabric bag making
- Card making
- Assembly of beads/lace kits
- Assembly of completed kits
Girl Scouts of all ages may participate. This is a work night and girls should be able to sew, craft, or make cards. Friends and family members from the community are also welcome.
Girls wishing to receive a Caitlin’s Smiles patch will need to pay $2 for the patch.
