Hello!
I’m Odessa,a senior at State High. I am volunteering with the ClearWater Conservancy to organize our annual neighborhood trash clean up. It is in celebration of Earth Day on Sunday the 21st of April from 9am-12pm.
We will meet at 9am on the neighborhood side of the crosswalk over to Gray’s Woods Elementary School, where we will briefly discuss safety precautions, distribute supplies, and split up to cover the neighborhood. The supplies include gloves, trash bags, and an orange safety jacket. I suggest you wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and that will be appropriate for the weather. The goal is to pick up any trash you see, some of which you may have already noticed in your day-to-day life. This clean up is a county wide effort to help our environment, and at the end the ClearWater Conservancy weighs the bags of trash. Since 1997, 6 million pounds of trash have been picked up and therefore didn’t enter our waterways!
Please RSVP by responding to this email or emailing me at org15@scasd.org if you want to help the Earth and upkeep our neighborhood that we all enjoy.
If you have a child in high school, they can get up to three hours of community service from this! You can either bring the community service form or send it to me later to be filled out.
Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Odessa Gregor
